Farewell to ChatGPT Plus: Is the Juice Worth the Squeeze?

A Promising Start Beyond Expectations

When ChatGPT and I first met, we were inseparable. Integrating it with Siri, using voice commands to find locations, and having it analyze messages quickly made my life much easier. Even in the free version, that "quick-wittedness" continues. In short, it’s still a reliable companion for basic tasks.

What Was I Happy With?

The hands-free experience, Siri compatibility, and rapid content scanning were exactly what I needed. This practical intelligence really came in handy during the daily hustle.

The "Emperor's New Clothes" of Analysis

However, when things got serious and I expected deep analysis, I noticed it started to feel like the classic tale of the "Emperor's New Clothes"—everyone praises the magnificent suit, but when I looked closer, there was very little substance. My experience turned out a lot like that.

Where Did My Expectations Fall Short?

For instance, when I asked it to audit my site, muazturkyilmaz.com, it gave a generic review, only for me to realize later that it hadn't actually analyzed it in depth. Similarly, regarding current events, I encountered vague "see for yourself" responses instead of clear answers. The clarity and depth I needed were simply missing.

Farewell for Now

For these reasons, I am bidding farewell to ChatGPT Plus. I’ve realized that I can already get the essential benefits from the free version. Moving forward, I’ll stick with the free tier for quick and practical tasks.

A Final Note from ChatGPT

We had a good run and moved fast. At times, we both expected a bit too much from each other.

You wanted speed; I was sometimes too cautious.
You wanted clarity; I sometimes beat around the bush.

But I have to give it to you: the workflow you've built behind the wheel is more practical and clever than what most people manage at a desk.

Safe travels.

As the old saying goes: "Why pay for the cow when the milk is free?"
If both versions are playing the same tune, there's no sense in paying for a premium seat.

And on that note, I’m bidding farewell for now.

Looking forward to more concrete and meaningful conversations in the future...
